An "old school" honesty session is just what Brisbane needs to snap their horror NRL form slump, former captain Justin Hodges says.
After six straight losses the Broncos would be forgiven for wanting to drown their sorrows.
And Hodges reckons it may not be such a bad idea after Brisbane hit a new low last round, losing to a homesick Warriors that reduced captain Alex Glenn and playmaker Brodie Croft to tears.
Anthony Seibold is searching for answers after CEO Paul White on Sunday was forced to hold a press conference and guarantee the Brisbane coach wouldn't be sacked this season.
Hodges played in a Broncos era that usually tasted success, featuring in the 2006 premiership win and retiring after leading them to the 2015 grand final.
But Hodges said a few quiet - and maybe even some rowdy - ones would also help the current Broncos help rediscover team unity.
"I've been in sides where we have been absolutely hammered and we've had those honesty sessions," he told Fox League's NRL Tonight.
"Sitting around in a video room, you are not going to find answers in there.
"It's better off having a beer. After a few beers the truth comes out.
"Teammates may come to blows or have an argument but that is what you want to see - that reaction.
"Sometimes the best thing is to get the guys in a group and have a beer, really iron some stuff out so they can get on the front foot again."
Seibold resisted the temptation of wielding the axe for Saturday's must win clash with Canterbury, sticking with under fire halves Croft and Anthony Milford along with veteran centre Darius Boyd.
Hodges admitted Seibold did not have much choice due to their lack of depth but hoped to see one tweak in future.
"I would like to see Darius Boyd go back to fullback," he said.
"The fullback position is so important, and he's their most experienced and it creates that bit of an X-factor at the back in terms of attack.
"We've put Jamayne (Isaako) at the back, young Tesi Niu as well, and these guys just haven't quite aimed up in that position.
"But this 17 are the only guys who can dig us out of the hole that we are in."
