Tocumwal Regional Park is receiving a security upgrade from Parks Victoria in an attempt to prevent the illegal felling of trees.
According to reports from Parks Victoria, 40 standing trees were illegally felled in the last year.
The said offenders were caught on camera and in person by patrolling rangers and fined more than $4000.
To protect the vital habitats of native animals, Parks Victoria is rolling out surveillance equipment and rangers will be patrolling the area every day.
Smaller hidden cameras with the ability to send photos of offenders in real time are being used to allow rangers to quickly detect illegal activity.
