A second-quarter blitz by Brisbane has seen Tom Rockliff and his Port Adelaide teammates lose their first game of the season on Saturday.
In a battle between the top two sides, Brisbane upstaged Port Adelaide by 37 points at the Gabba to draw level on the ladder with four wins each this year.
In an otherwise scrappy and well-fought contest, the Lions fired off a five-goal blitz in the space of nine minutes in the second quarter to blow the margin out in its favour.
Rockliff was a solid contributor for Port Power, kicking his first goal of the season, but was slightly down on his average disposal rate (20) with 14 possessions.
Port Adelaide, which remains on top of the ladder ahead of Brisbane on percentage, will host GWS Giants at Metricon Stadium on Sunday.
All 10 Victorian clubs, including Caleb Marchbank’s Carlton and Harry Morrison’s Hawthorn, have relocated into interstate hubs this week, as the state deals with a spike in COVID-19 infections.
